LACWHN > Programs > Communications and Publications > Women's Health Collection Women's Health Collection
Since 1996, this annual publication has been dedicated to the in-depth analysis of priority issues in women's health through contributions by LACWHN members -groups and individual researchers- and other collaborators who work in the area of focus and share LACWHN's mission and objectives. The Women's Health Collection is also published in Spanish as the Cuadernos Mujer Salud. These special publications feature research, testimonies and experiences of action and intervention, with an emphasis on work undertaken in the Latin American and Caribbean region. In recent years, this focus has broadened to include examples from other regions, enriching our perspectives on women's health. The Women's Health Collection has been shared at numerous regional and international conferences on women's health and related issues and has also been sold at international book fairs. The most recent issue, Women's Health Collection #12, Putting Birth Back in Women's Hands, describes the efforts to promote the humanization of childbirth on the part of women, heathcare professionals and activists in our region over the past few years. Previous issues of the women's health journal have looked at violence against women, HIV/AIDS, women growing older, health and work, sexuality, mental health, human rights and access to safe and legal abortion, among other topics.
